The 49ers search for a wide out will take them to working out free agent wide receiver Randy Moss.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Moss, who worked out already for the Saints, will be in San Fran Monday for a workout with the Niners.
Reports from last weeks workout with the Saints are is that the 35-year-old Moss looked good, and showed quite a bit in the workout.
Moss certainly has the resume that the Niners are looking for. He has 954 receptions, 14,858 yards and 153 touchdowns, earning six trips to the Pro Bowl and four first-team All-Pro honors playing with a couple teams over his career.
Moss ranks ninth all-time in receptions, fifth in receiving yards and is tied with Terrell Owens for second in touchdown receptions.
The Niners need a playmaker at the WR position, as Michael Crabtree had the only reception by the team’s wide receivers in January’s NFC Title game, showing how much they need another pass catcher.
The team could lose starter Josh Morgan to unrestricted free agency, which begins Tuesday at 4PM EST. At the very least, taking a flier on Moss isn’t the worst thing in the world.
