Coming off a 19-11 win in the Nation’s Capital, the 49ers return home to take on NFC East leaders, the New York Giants. The 49ers now sit at 7-1 on the season, 2-1 against the NFC East, the only loss coming at Candlestick to the Dallas Cowboys in overtime. San Fran is leading the NFC [...]

Streaking 49ers pummel Redskins; 19-11

What happened: This wasn’t a particularly good display by either team, but the Niners have proven they are legitimate time after time by winning games even when things are not clicking. Alex Smith was pressured throughout much of the first half but once again was effective at managing the game. I can’t say it enough; [...]

Powerful combo leads way: 49ers led by Gore, stout defense notch win in Nation’s Capital

Prediction: The way the defense is playing, you can make a valid case for the 49ers as a serious Super Bowl contender.  Frank Gore is healthy and running the ball as hard as anyone in the league.  The tandem of a strong defense and Gore to go along with a turnover-free Alex Smith, will be [...]

As Miller met with a group of reporters Monday, Frank Gore walked [...]

49ers improve to 6-1; blast Browns behind Gore’s record day 20-10

From Elias Sports Bureau: Frank Gore’s scoring run against the Browns and a 49ers defense that did not permit a TD on the ground made the Niners the first NFL team in 91 years to score, but not allow, a rushing touchdown in each of its first seven games of a season. The Buffalo All-Americans [...]

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh says he’s “hopeful” to see a host of previously injured 49ers return to the practice field for a bonus session Tuesday, including receiver Braylon Edwards. The free-agent signee suffered a meniscus tear on Sept. 18 (Week 2, OT loss to Dallas) and has [...]
