When it comes to free agents (of which the 49ers have 37 of), the team has a huge decision to make when it comes to fullback Kyle Juszczyk.
Juszczyk has been a huge part of the Niners offense the last few seasons, but is set to hit the free agent market in March.
He inked a four-year deal with the 49ers back in March of 2017, and the team is saying all the right things when it comes to wanting to keep him in the fold.
“He’s a unique person and a unique football player because he does so many things for you,” GM John Lynch said in January.
“He’s important to us and we’re going to make every effort to try to keep him here. I’m sure there’ll be competition and we understand that, but Kyle’s a real important player to this football team and we’ll do everything we can to keep him here.”
The one thing in the favor of the Niners is the fact that not many teams are going to pay a lot for a fullback, as the position just isn’t used in the NFL like it use to be back in the 60’s and 70’s.
While it is likely that the Niners will have some competition for his services, if they don’t disrespect Juszczyk with a bad offer, the team can probably get him back with another 3-4 year deal.
