49ers One of the Teams Interested in Free Agent CB David Amerson

The agent for free-agent cornerback David Amerson said the 49ers are one of several teams interested in his client, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports.

Amerson became a free agent earlier this month when the Raiders released him following any injury-marked 2017 season in which he played in just six games. He visited the Bears last week and the Houston Texans today.

No visit has been scheduled with yet with San Francisco, who are expected to shop for cornerbacks in both free agency and the draft. The only two outside cornerbacks signed for the upcoming season are Ahkello Witherspoon and Greg Mabin. Longtime starter Dontae Johnson is a free agent and the 49ers aren’t expected to make a push to bring him back.
