The 49ers are scheduled to interview Browns offensive coordinator John DeFilippo today for their vacant head-coaching position on Friday, a league source told Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.

The 49ers received permission to speak with DeFilippo, who was granted permission to interview for the St. Louis Rams’ offensive coordinator position earlier this week.

DeFilippo is the fifth known candidate for the 49ers’ head-coaching job, joining ex-Philadelphia coach Chip Kelly, Buffalo assistant head coach/running backs Anthony Lynn, Cincinnati offensive coordinator Hue Jackson and Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter.

DeFilippo, 37, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, spent last season on Mike Pettine’s staff as offensive coordinator after serving the previous three seasons as Raiders quarterbacks coach. Pettine was fired on Sunday after the Browns finished the season with a 3-13 record.

One of Cleveland’s victories was a 24-10 win over the 49ers on Dec. 13. DeFilippo’s offense rolled up 481 total yards, as Johnny Manziel threw for 270 yards and the Browns rushed for 230 yards.
