Niners and LB NaVorro Bowman Close to Agreeing to a Five-Year Extension

Word is the 49ers are on the close to inking a five-year contract extension with linebacker NaVorro Bowman that will tie him to the team through the 2018 season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. This according to a league source.

Once the deal is finalized, Bowman will be under contract with the 49ers for seven seasons and Pro Bowl linebacker Patrick Willis will be tied to San Francisco through 2016, giving the team one of the leagues top linebacking duos for years to come.

Willis, 27, signed a five-year, $50 million contract in 2010.
