First to Five, Second to Six.
What am I talking about?….. Super Bowls
In 1994, your San Francisco 49ers were the first team to win five Super Bowls.
In 2008, the Pittsburgh Steelers became the first team to win six Super Bowls.
The Niners, in order to re-establish themselves as one of the model franchises of the NFL, need to get back to their winning ways. And, when I say winning ways, I don’t just mean a winning record and competing for a playoff spot. I mean, being in the conversation as one of the few teams that has a chance to win the Super Bowl, year in, and year out.
San Fran has not made it to the big game since they won their fifth Super Bowl. And, with this new regime, they have a chance to turn it around and once again become a winner. Short of the Quarterback position, this team has just enough talent all over the board to start making some noise.
Will the Niners really be the second team to win six Super Bowls? It is certainly not out of the picture. The Cowboys have also won five Super Bowls and could maybe get to six before we do. But, if we take care of our business, we can get there before they do. Right now, the Niners are seen by many as a joke around the league and the only way for this to be cured is by winning. Here is hoping that they quickly become the second team to win six Super Bowls. I don’t want to get ahead of myself but, the quicker they reach six, the greater their chances of being the first team to win seven.
