Pro Football Weekly reports that the Niners new O-line coach Mike Solari is going to earn his keep with new draft picks and a line that is expected to have a big season:
It remains to be seen how immediate an impact will be provided on the 49ers’ offensive line by first-round road graders Anthony Davis and Mike Iupati, whose playing time together steadily increased earlier this offseason. But there’s been no denying the instant impact of new offensive line coach Mike Solari and new assistant O-line coach and former Niners starting OG Ray Brown, who have been entrusted with showing Davis and Iupati the ropes and molding them into top-quality linemen at the pro level. “During OTAs, most of the linemen praised Solari and Ray for their attention to detail,” said one daily team observer. “(Head coach Mike) Singletary has always admired Solari from afar, and Brown – who was a real anchor and should have made the Pro Bowl with the Niners – has a magnetic presence very much like Singletary’s. He still looks like he can play.” For what it’s worth, we hear Iupati appears to be progressing a little bit more quickly than Davis so far.
