1993 (2nd 1st round pick)
With the 27th pick in the 1993 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected Todd Kelly, defensive tackle, out of the University of Tennessee. Kelly was a bust by all accounts, playing only his first two seasons with the 49ers and then spending some time with the Cincinnati Bengals, and Atlanta Falcons. In 25 games with the 49ers, Kelly accumulated 4.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 22 tackles. He would add just a sack and 3 tackles in his next 21 games after his departure from the 49ers. Defensive lineman Michael Strahan would be selected 13 picks later by the New York Giants.
