Niners draft history- 1978 (2nd first round pick)

Seventeen picks after selecting Ken MacAfee, the 49ers selected Dan Bunz, linebacker out of California State University, Long Beach. The 6-foot-4, 225 pound Bunz played seven seasons with the 49ers, and his eighth with the Detroit Lions. In his playing time in San Francisco, Bunz had 3 interceptions, and a fumble recovery. However, don’t be fooled into believing that he had no success in the league. During his 7 seasons, Bunz was a member of two Super Bowl winning teams coached by the legendary Bill Walsh. He is also remembered for a play dubbed as “The Stop” in Super Bowl XVI against Cincinnati. Bunz. There is no need for me to explain the play, as the following video will do it justice:

Today, Bunz is a Physical Education teacher.
