Niners draft history- 1969

In 1969, the San Francisco 49ers held the 7th pick in the first round. With that pick, they selected Penn State tight end Ted Kwalick. Kwalick spent his whole playing career in the Bay Area, but not only with San Francisco. He would make his way to Oakland, but had nothing to show for it on the field- 4 yards for 15 yards in 3 seasons. He made the Pro-Bowl team in the 1971, 1972 (also First-Team All-Pro), and 1973 seasons. In 6 seasons with San Francisco, he accumulated 164 receptions for 2555 yards and 23 touchdowns. Kwalick is now the president/owner of ProTech Voltage Systems, Inc., a company that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and attempts to promote greater operating efficiency through power conditioning.
