Bly Says “Sorry” for Pulling a Prime-Time Down 25 After Pick

You know that you just wanted to throw your remote through the TV when you saw it – and today Dre Bly is saying “sorry” for showboating down 25 Sunday after a pick:

A day after insisting that “Dre’ is going to be Dre’,” cornerback Dre’ Bly was contrite. He took the podium during coach Mike Singletary’s weekly news conference Monday to apologize for his antics during the 49ers’ 45-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. “I just got caught up in the moment, but it was totally inappropriate,” Bly said. “Being a veteran guy, I should have been smarter, and it was a bad choice of mine. I’m sorry.” On Sunday, Bly intercepted a pass and began showboating during the return. He preened Deion Sanders style, cocking his right arm behind his helmet as he strutted toward the end zone.He gave the ball right back, though, as Falcons receiver Roddy White hustled from behind to knock the ball loose from Bly’s careless left hand. The 49ers trailed 35-10 at the time.
