Niners News and Notes for Wednesday

Frank Gore moved into seventh place on the Niners’ all-time rushing yards list on Sunday, but he’ll be in fifth at season’s end if he has his way. Gore, whose 130 yards against the Lions put him at 3,692 career rushing yards, is now ahead of Kevan Barlow (3,614) and behind Hugh McElhenny (4,288).

His career-high of 1,695 rushing yards in 2006 is quite a mark, but Gore would like to surpass that figure this season. A 1,700-yard season would put Gore over the 5,000-yard mark, at 5,105, leaving him roughly 400 yards short of Garrison Hearst.

Mike Martz and the Niners offense are one.
