Latest Niners News from Around the Media World

As teams go into vacation mode for a few weeks before training camp later this month, here is some of the latest Niners news:

Word from Pro Football Weekly is that second-round draft pick Chilo Rachal will move from right tackle back to right guard. The signing of tackle Barry Sims precipitated the move.

PFW also reported that head coach Mike Nolan let seventh-round pick Larry Grant know that he is a serious contender for the starting ILB “Ted” spot, next to star Patrick Willis. Grant figures to battle Jeff Ulbrich, Brandon Moore and Dontarrious Thomas for the right to start. Sounds like Grant is going to have to fight for his right to party in his rookie season. How do you like that Beastie Boys reference!?
