Niners Draft Projections
Posted by Kyle Stack on February 27th, 2008 filed in Opinions
I have been mentioning several different Web sites’ draft projections for the Niners in my blogs, including those from NFLDraftBlitz.com.
Well, Anthony Conty at DraftBlitz was kind enough to share his projections for every Niners’ pick in the upcoming draft (their first-round mock draft is free, but they charge a subscription to view the rest of the draft). You can view their first-round mock draft here.
Here are his most recent projections, as of Monday.
First Round (29th overall pick)
Kentwan Balmer, DT/DE-North Carolina
“The Niners have the luxury of an early second round pick and will fill their need for a Wide Receiver then. The 3-4 needs specific players and Balmer’s skills are best-suited for that alignment.”
Second Round (8th pick, 39th overall)
Andre Caldwell, WR-Florida
Third Round (7th pick, 70th overall)
Dre Moore, DT/DE-Maryland
Fourth Round (8th pick, 103rd overall)
Barry Richardson, T-Clemson
Fifth Round (7th pick, 133rd overall)
Tommy Blake, DE/OLB-TCU
Sixth Round (8th pick, 165th overall)
Jerome Felton, FB-Furman
Seventh Round (7th pick, 196th overall)
Kory Robertson, DT-Virginia Tech
Thanks again to Anthony Conty from NFLDraftBlitz.com for the info. So that is four defensive linemen, five linemen total, with seven picks. What do you guys think of these projections. Comment away.

Kyle,
3 Defensive Lineman is a lot, yes, but realize that Tommy Blake would be an OLB in your system. Only 3 out of 7 there.
