The 49ers travel to Seattle tonight for Monday Night Football. Despite a six-game losing streak and their current 2-6 record, a win by the 49ers tonight over the 4-4 Seahawks would put the 49ers only one game out of the division lead. The NFC West is still wide open, but the 49ers have to cut down on mistakes and inconsistent play. The Niners lost an earlier match-up to Seattle in late September, 23-3. The last time Alex Smith faced the Seahawks, he had his throwing shoulder separated when defensive tackle Rocky Bernard slammed him to the ground on a sack. Since their win over the 49ers, the Seahawks have gone on to drop three of their last four games.
