Smith to Return to QB Spot for 49′ers Sunday
Posted by Matt Loede on October 25th, 2007 in News
The 49′ers have their signal caller back this week, as Alex Smith will be back under center for the teams matchup with the Saints. Smith has been out since September 30th with a separated shoulder. He went though his second day of practice on Thursday, and reported no issues. Smith hurt his shoulder on the third play of the teams 20-point loss to the Seahawks. Trent Dilfer has been the quarterback since, and the team has had plenty of problems trying to put points on the board. “It’s not so much my confidence in him, it’s his confidence in taking reps (in practice),” Nolan said. “I expect him to play well, and he looked good. He looked healthy today.”
