OT Jennings out indefinitely

San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Jonas JenningsSan Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan has disclosed that offensive tackle Jonas Jennings will be away from the team indefinitely in what is being described as “a private matter”.  Physically, Jennings is fine and he was at the 49ers’ training complex but didn’t practice, but Nolan would not disclose the reason for Jennings’ unavailability saying, “As always, our most important interest is in the well-being of our players.”

This comes at a bad time for the 49ers as they have just recently lost quarterback Alex Smith to a major shoudler injury and tight end Vernon Davis will miss at least one more game while recovering from a knee ailment.  For the foreseeable future, 3rd-year player Adam Snyder will replace Jennings; Nolan did not know for certain about Jennings’ availability for the 49ers’ next scheduled road game, which takes place on October 21.
