49′ers Fall in Preseason Opener 17-13

Patrick Ramsey went 4-of-10 passing for 45 yards and a touchdown while Jay Cutler led his team on a 67-yard touchdown march as the Denver Broncos beat the San Francisco 49ers, 17-13, in the preseason opener for both teams at Monster Park. Travis Henry ran five times for 27 yards and a touchdown while backup fullback Troy Fleming hauled in a TD pass for the Broncos, who travel to Dallas to battle the Cowboys this Saturday. In the loss, Alex Smith went 4-of-5 passing for 58 yards while Shaun Hill completed 13 of 20 pass attempts for 148 yards and one interception. Thomas Clayton ran 17 times for 55 yards and Maurice Hicks rushed three times for 30 yards for the 49ers, who play host to the Oakland Raiders this Saturday evening.
