Santa Clara City Leaders Back More Money For New Stadium Study

New 49'ers Staidum

The City of Santa Clara will be spending 115-thousand-dollars of additional money to pay for a stadium feasibility study.  Santa Clara’s Mayor Patricia Mahan says the stadium plan is so involved it will take longer to review it and more money is needed on top of the originally approved 200-grand in funding for the study.

Santa Clara is in the middle of a six-month review of building a massive football stadium complex for the 49ers on a huge city-owned parking lot currently leased by Great America Amusement Park.  The 49ers are asking the City of Santa Clara to contribute 160-million-dollars to the proposed 850-million-dollar South Bay stadium complex.
